Symptoms of Female Infertility
The main symptom of female infertility is the inability to get pregnant. Some of the other symptoms are-

- Pain during sex.
Causes of Female Infertility

Endometriosis : Endometriosis (en-doe-me-tree-O-sis) is a disorder in which tissue similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus, the endometrium, grows outside your uterus. This extra tissue or scar caused by the removal of this tissue can result in blockage of fallopian tubes leading to infertility.
Ovulation Disorder : Every one out of four couples suffers from Ovulation Disorder with infrequent ovulation or no ovulation. The causes of ovulation disorder.
- Polycystic Ovulation Syndrome(PCOS) : Caused by a hormonal imbalance of insulin resistance and obesity.
- Excess Prolactin : Pituitary gland producing excess prolactin decreases the estrogen production resulting in infertility.
- Dysfunction of the hypothalamus : Excessive stress or weight gain can disturb the hormonal production affecting ovulation and causing irregular menstruation.
Damage to fallopian Tubes : Any type of damage to the fallopian tubes can stop fertilization of the eggs. Some of the common causes for the damage of the fallopian tubes are-
Pelvic inflammatory disease, an infection of the uterus and fallopian tubes due to chlamydia, gonorrhoea or other sexually transmitted infections.
Previous surgery in the abdomen or pelvis, including surgery for ectopic pregnancy
Pelvic tuberculosis, a major cause of tubal infertility.
Uterine or Cervical Causes : Several uterine or cervical causes can impact fertility like-
Benign polyps or tumours (fibroids or myomas) can cause blockage in fallopian tubes or interfere with implantation, affecting fertility.
Uterine abnormalities present from birth, such as an abnormally shaped uterus, can cause infertility.
Cervical stenosis, a narrowing of the cervix, can be caused by an inherited malformation or damage to the cervix.
Sometimes the cervix can't produce the best type of mucus to allow the sperm to travel through the cervix into the uterus.
Unexplained Infertility : Sometimes the specific reason for infertility can not be determined, there can be multiple reasons in the couples for infertility.
